Computer Literacy is having basic computing skills. Just like you can be literate in reading, but not know all the words in the dictionary, you can be computer literate but don't know how to program your own games. As long as you understand the basic functions of a computer like typing, internet, web browsing, etc, then in my definition, you would be computer literate.
I think most people should be computer literate because we are moving more into technology. In order to function in todays society using computers should be taught because it's going to be an important part of our future.
- Raiel Schwartz
Computer literacy is the knowledge and ability to use computers and technology efficiently.
Today the people dont have to be computer literate but i believe that future generations need to be computer literate because technology advances. if you want a good job you need to know how to use the computer.
It seems that everyday something new is digitized and more and more people are being forced into to being computer literate. As Charina mentioned it can determine what kind of job you get or help you advance in your current job.
I think Raiel gave us a very good definion here for computer literacy. It is becoming almost as important as recognizing the written word.
As raiel schwartz said computer literacy is the ability for one using basic computing skills. What this means is you are able to use computers wisely.
Do we need to have computer skills for our future?
no but it will be useful because the computer can be usefull .
